All about the movie Trust MoviesJoy. Brooke Gatwick and Owen Shore are a young married couple in New York City who have been together since high school. They have recently struggled with starting a family and Brooke opened her own art gallery, which features Ansgar Doyle's paintings. Ansgar openly expresses his feelings for Brooke and frequently attempts to communicate with her in the middle of the night, which irritates Owen. Owen wants to go to Paris for Christmas and secretly purchases plane tickets for after the exhibition opens, hoping that decompressing will allow them to conceive a child. Brooke, on the other hand, wants to concentrate on the gallery. Brooke discovers strange text messages on Owen's phone one night and suspects him of cheating on her. Ansgar informs Brooke that Damien Light, a film director, is interested in purchasing his artwork and would like to meet with them at the Marias Hotel in Paris, which she reluctantly agrees to.

Frustrated by Brooke's abrupt departure, Owen accepts a job in Las Vegas for the time they would have gone to Paris. Later, Brooke notices Owen leaving in the middle of the night, which raises her suspicions about his infidelity, especially when he visits an address advertised online as a "lovers' nest." Owen meets Amy, a journalism major at Columbia, while out with his friend Adam at a bar. Amy recognises Owen from his news show and begins flirting with him. Owen eventually takes Amy back to his house and they have sex. Brooke's text messages interrupt them. Owen, regretting their tryst, requests that Amy leave and that they never meet again; Amy requests Owen's assistance with her career after she graduates.

Brooke returns to New York early after closing the deal in Paris. Ansgar intends to use a naked painting of Brooke as the focal point of his gallery exhibition. Owen notices Ansgar and Brooke's apparent closeness on the night of the premiere. Amy appears at the opening and catches Ansgar's eye. Owen lies to Brooke about meeting Amy the night before at a bar. After a fight between Owen and Ansgar, Amy requests that Ansgar drive her home. On the way to their apartment, Brooke begins to poke holes in Owen's storey, even showing him an autographed napkin that Owen gave Amy the night before at the bar. Owen eventually admits to sleeping with Amy, and Brooke storms out, taking Owen's phone to see what he's been up to at odd hours of the night.

Ansgar delivers Amy to Brooke and Owen's apartment, where Amy informs Owen that she met Brooke a few days ago. Eleanor, Brooke's friend, suggested hiring a "decoy" to test Owen's loyalty. Brooke texts Amy to cancel the ruse while Amy is at the bar with Owen, but Amy ignores Brooke. Amy meets with Brooke on the day of the art opening and lies about what happened with Owen, giving her the autographed napkin as proof that she did meet with him. Brooke compensates Amy and invites her to the job opening. Brooke goes through Owen's phone after dropping by Eleanor and Adam's apartment and discovers that he was not seeing other women but was working on a storey about an unfaithful senator. "Sarah" is actually one of Owen's coworkers who has arranged an apartment for him and Brooke if they visit Paris. Brooke returns to her apartment to find Owen and Amy conversing. Amy apologises for overstepping her professional boundaries (after promising Brooke that she would not have sex with Owen). Owen is angry because his wife set up a situation that enticed him to cheat on her. Amy returns the money that Brooke had given her before leaving the apartment.

Brooke refuses to answer Owen's question about whether she cheated on him with Ansgar in Paris. Ansgar attempts to seduce Brooke while she is in Paris. Brooke is partially undressed in the film, but she refuses to confirm or deny having sex with Ansgar. Owen prepares for his trip to Las Vegas by packing a piece of luggage. Before leaving, he shows Brooke the Paris tickets he purchased, which they can still use. She thinks for a moment about the future, where she sees a daughter with them in Paris, and she finally accepts him.
